Low-temperature conversion of Fe-rich sludge to KFeS2 whisker: a new flocculant synthesis from laboratory scale to pilot scale

Abstract Herein, a KFeS 2 whisker was formed in mass production at low temperature, with waste cold-rolling sludge as Fe source, which exhibited good performance the removal of Zn/Ni from real electroplating effluent. At laboratory scale, generated 80 °C by hydrothermal method, and grew radially extension reaction time. This method applied pilot where similar also produced residual brownish supernatant observed after then completely recycled next round for synthesis. After recycling five times, did not change. The drying storage have been verified. Freeze vacuum were applicable, whereas air profitable. Moreover, efficiency using undried to that dried . efficiencies apparently higher those common reagents wastewater treatment.
